The sin of being booooring

Without knowing most people are deeply boring.

There’s a simple reason for this: They follow a bad script. Great leaders instinctively know it; others learn it: You don’t need to play a role. Just be yourself. Be comfortable and at leisure with who you really are. It’s our most beloved role that’s keeping us small.

Adhering to roles and scripts just leads to self-consciousness. And self-consciousness creates barriers between people. It stops all action. And it’s boring.

Bore people, and you lose their attention – and permission to lead them.
To act like a leader, you have to stop being boring.
